Kiln Ventilation Installation (Without A Hole On The Wall)

It's been a while since my last blog post, and I'm excited to finally upload a new one!

After moving my studio to a new location, I had to set everything up again.

I wanted to avoid damaging the walls and potentially lowering the property value, so I decided not to drill holes for the kiln ventilation system. Instead, I installed tghe vent system using a windown mounth, just like I did in my previous studio.

This is the brief sketch of the wall mount.

I drew outlines of where it needs to be cut.

I used very thin ply woods to save money.

I painted all the surfaces because raw wooden surfaces will create mold due to moisture.

I used the pink insulation to maintain the temperature of the studio and foam spray to fill up gaps between the insulation and the wooden board.

Well, It looks a little awkward and very unorganized lol.

I was hoping to place the kiln all the way to the left side of the wall, but the kiln vent isn't long enough.

Unfortunately, the left side of the window doesn't open. :')

I also needed to place some leftover pink insulations between the wall and the mount to reduce the noise caused by the vent machine's vibrations during operation.

It still works!

Here's my very first batch created in the new studio.
